Titus Volunteer Fire Department

Titus Volunteer Fire Department is actively seeking local resident firefighters.  Come and join one of the most progressive volunteer emergency response organizations in the county.

Membership

Active members of the Fire Department shall consist of such able-bodied persons, age eighteen (18) or older as may be approved by a majority of all active members, after said proposed member has served a probationary period of not less than ninety (90) days.  The proposed member shall live within the confines of the area protected by the Fire Department and its primary mutual aid response area.  New members shall complete an application prior to being voted on for membership and a background check will be performed on said member by the membership committee prior to membership being brought up for membership vote.

Cadets

Persons between the ages of fourteen (14) and eighteen (18) years of age may apply for cadet status.  This person shall have written permission from parent(s) and or guardian prior to being considered for acceptance as a cadet.  This person shall attend two-thirds (2/3) of all training sessions and monthly meetings and attend as many department functions as possible as long as it does not interfere with their normal school/education responsibilities.  They must maintain at least a "C" average in all subjects and present their report cards to the Fire Chief each grading period.  If a cadet does not keep passing grades, they shall be placed on suspension from all Fire Department functions until their grades are brought up to satisfactory passing grades.

No cadet shall enter a burning structure at any time!!!  Each cadet shall be assigned to a senior firefighter or officer and that cadet shall receive his assignments from that firefighter /officer.  No cadet shall drive any apparatus except for training purposes.  Each cadet shall be responsible for all equipment assigned to him/her.  Each cadet shall apply in writing one (1) month prior to their eighteenth (18th) birthday for full membership status.

Business meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month.  Training meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month.  Additional training will occur as necessary with notification.
